Check it. Having approached my cluttered work area the other night I was inspired all sudden-like to snap a pic. No, not because I thought it looked pretty or productive or whatever. But I had an interesting thought about how I organize my work space and projects and how that somehow translates into spontaneous productivity… Every once in a while anyways.
Well here’s something from the way way back. Let me check that metadata actually… 9/21/2011 @ 9:42PM. Good to know.
A common problem I had, when getting back to the gym to work out, after a previous day of busting my ass, was moist or damp or sweaty shoes and gloves… ewww… So I didn’t do anything about it for a while, just manned up to the moist workout equipment. Then I remembered seeing something like this, that didn’t seem too difficult to construct. Of course, I found some cheap versions, but I set out to do my own little version instead.
I get asked every so often about cameras, to buy this or that? Well, it’s been a while since I’ve gone down that road… but I definitely remember the struggle and indecision. If you’re looking to take that jump into the DSLR field, read on as I recount my own fun (and sometimes costly) adventures.
And I still can’t stop making things! It could be the nice weather. It could be that I want to have an awesome garden. I may just be bored. But for the past couple of weeks it’s been all about the plants. As you might recall, I built a doghouse using some scrap wood. But it was an eyesore and Niz never used it. So I destroyed it and re-purposed the wood to prop up some rain barrels. I also made a handful of various kinds of planters, made from... Read The Rest →
Spring really kicks me in the ass when it comes to productivity. I’ve been busy doing all these little projects here and there that I’ve completely lost sight of everything else. Wait.. I’ve been so productive that I feel unproductive? Yeahhh well whatever…
Awesome letter written by Robert Pirosh, sent to all those in the movie industry he could possibly think of. Dear Sir: I like words. I like fat buttery words, such as ooze, turpitude, glutinous, toady. I like solemn, angular, creaky words, such as straitlaced, cantankerous, pecunious, valedictory. I like spurious, black-is-white words, such as mortician, liquidate, tonsorial, demi-monde. I like suave “V” words, such as Svengali, svelte, bravura, verve. I like crunchy, brittle, crackly words, such as splinter, grapple, jostle, crusty. I like sullen, crabbed, scowling words, such as skulk,... Read The Rest →
I’ve been preoccupied lately, with some home improvement issues. Well at least they were issues. Now, luckily, they’re just memories (nightmares?). Go on, take a look…
Just thought I would share my very Jerry-rigged setup when I shot this lovely (and tasty) bottle of whisky. When I say Jerry-rigged, I mean that I used foam board, cardboard, a beer koozie, a chair as a tripod… well, you get the idea. I used whatever I had. You can see one of the final setups to the right, and it just goes to show that you don’t need a studio to come up with some passable shots (but it sure can help). Well, I won’t bore you with... My trip to Japan eventually led me to the small, almost resort-like, city of Hakone. I came in knowing nothing about this city other than that it’s apparently known for it’s hot springs, i.e., the reason I was there. I also learned that many of the local Japanese take the relatively short train-ride to Odawara station, and then to Hakone, to spend a nice relaxing weekend in the springs. And actually, I felt vastly outnumbered. Not a single tourist, it seemed, other than myself! Well, after a bit of walking... Read The Rest →
